THE ROLE OF TECHNICAL TRAINING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES

()

Dr Jolanta Barbara Cichowska

This article focuses on the role of technical training in developing professional competencies in the context of dynamic socio-economic changes and technological progress. Using the example of the SIMP Personnel Development Center in Bydgoszcz (ODEKA SIMP), it shows how carefully designed courses effectively respond to the growing demands of the labor market and support the development of practical skills needed in today’s professional realities. A qualitative research approach (case study method) was used, allowing for an in-depth look at the experiences of one of the program participants. The surveyed student showed that the obtained qualifications are crucial for further professional development and expanding qualifications. Particular attention was paid to the synergy resulting from the cooperation between universities, training centers, and the industrial sector. This integration promotes more effective consolidation of academic knowledge and the development of key competencies, including both technical and soft skills, such as the ability to learn independently, flexibility, and entrepreneurial attitudes. The summary emphasizes that technical training (especially in shortage professions) is a crucial element in preparing young specialists to enter the labor market and serves as an effective tool for improving the quality of vocational education in a knowledge-based society.
